The journey
From diagnosis to determination
Life-changing surgery
In January 2026, Stuart had major surgery that resulted in a permanent colostomy. It changed everything — including his nights.
The night everything changed
After a few near misses of the colostomy bag coming loose in bed, Stuart had one truly disastrous night — the bag came off completely. He calls it the Poonarmy. It was the moment he decided something had to change.
Nothing out there worked
Stuart searched online for a solution. He found a few products, but they were either eye-wateringly expensive, inadequate for real-life use, or looked so clinical they felt like a constant reminder of illness. None of them were right.
So he made his own
Stuart started making prototypes by hand. 25 to 30 versions later — each one tested, refined, and improved — Ko-Lo was born. Simple to wear: just slip in and pull up. Lightweight Lycra that's cool, comfortable, and keeps everything securely in place. Versatile enough to wear in the bath, shower, or under clothes during the day.

Every protector is handmade by Stuart with the care of someone who truly understands what it means to live with a stoma. This isn't a corporate product. It's a solution born from real life, made for real people.
